All meetings are open to the public and arrangements can be made for an interpreter for the deaf and mute. Public participation at a meeting must be pre-scheduled and pre-approved by the president.
Notice Regarding the Coronavirus
At this time, the Allegany County Board of Elections Meetings may be held by conference call and can be heard through a live-stream video link that is accessed from this page shortly before the scheduled meeting time. Public comments for the Board must be provided in writing and can be sent by email to dloibel@alleganygov.org. To ensure time for review, written comments should be received no later than 5 p.m. the day before the meeting. The next meeting will be held on May 6th.

The Board of Elections is a five-member, gubernatorial-appointed bi-partisan council.

About the Board
It is the honor of the Board to protect and promote public trust and confidence by conducting accurate and fair elections. All functions revolve around this responsibility and include the assurance that every eligible citizen is given the opportunity to register and vote and that accessible polling places are provided for the citizens. The Board also serves as a reference center for election information and provide assistance to all candidates and the seven Allegany County municipalities.
