[ARCHIVED] Notice of Action - Elections March 25

Notice of Action: At its March 25, 2022 board meeting, the Allegany County Board of Elections voted to rescind the previous motion on March 2, 2022 where they voted to combine/consolidate polling places for the upcoming 2022 Gubernatorial Elections. This was necessary with the passage of HB35/SB158. They also voted to approve the following polling place changes:

006-006	Allegany County Multi-Purpose Building	Bowling Green Volunteer Fire Department	This is a temporary polling place change because the Multi-Purpose Building is not available for the new election date of July 19, 2022.
10-000	Westmar Middle School Lobby	Westmar Middle School Gym	Changing polling place location from the main lobby to the Gym at Westmar Middle School
12-000	Mountain Ridge High School – Bus Entrance	Mountain Ridge High School – Gym	Changing polling place from the bus entrance to the gym
18-000	Midland Fire Station	Midland Fire Hall	Change polling place from the Midland Fire Station to the Midland Fire Hall at the request of the Midland Fire Station.

The board also discussed several other possible polling place changes due to the fact that the facilities are not available for the new election date or not willing to serve as a polling place in the 2022 Gubernatorial Elections. No action was taken at this time.

Previous surveys include: Windsor Castle Events Centre, JFK Apartments, Cumberland Arms, Old Senior Citizen’s Center Dining Hall, and City of Cumberland’s Council Chamber. None of the locations were compliant. We are in the process of seeking a corrective action for Trinity Lutheran Church.
004-004	Fort Hill High School		We have been notified by the Supervisor of Operations that there is a conflict with the new election date and this school. They will do what they can to try to make it work. More information to come.
006-005	Allegany High School		We have been notified by the Supervisor of Operations that there is a conflict with the new election date and this school. They will do what they can to try to make it work. More information to come.
024-000	Eckhart School		We have been notified by the Supervisor of Operations that there is a conflict with the new election date and this school. They will do what they can to try to make it work. More information to come.
