2026 News Flashes Posted on February 13, 2026

The Allegany County Commissioners are committed to allowing as many local youth as possible to utilize these fields and as such, would request that each proposal address a plan to allow other youth baseball groups access to these fields. Proposals should include the tentative number of players, coaches and number of area teams that are committed to utilizing fields, including supporting documentation.  Each proposal should describe the organization’s plan to maintain the fields, including assets on hand, fundraising plans, and method of maintenance for the duration of the agreement. Proposals should also include details about intended uses and scheduling for the fields, which also includes plans to allow local high schools and middle schools to be able to utilize the fields as needed for their baseball schedules.  The proposal should provide the formal organization of your entity and information necessary to demonstrate that your organization is in good standing and able to obtain liability insurance.  Finally, proposals should identify a point of contact and contact information for your organization.

To submit your proposal, please submit a letter of request the Allegany County Commissioners at 701 Kelly Road Suite 205 Cumberland MD 21502 or email your complete packet to Sam Logsdon, County Clerk, at countyclerk@alleganygov.org. In order to be considered, your proposal must be received by 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026. All requests will be reviewed immediately and the intention is to make a recommendation for the commissioners thereafter.
