1. When am I registered to vote?

You are considered a registered voter when your voter notification card has been issued by the election board.

2. What if I move to another address in Allegany County, or change my name?

Send us your change of address or name in writing complete with your signature or your can make changes using  https://voterservices.elections.maryland.gov/OnlineVoterRegistration/InstructionsStep1

3. If I move from another county to Allegany County, do I need to re-register?

Provide your new address to the local board of elections in your new jurisdiction or make your change by using Maryland’s Online Voter Registration System, linked below. 4. I did not vote in the primary election. Can I vote in the general election?

Yes. A vote in one election is not a requirement for another.

5. Do I have to vote?

No, Maryland State Law recently changed in that a registered voters' records will not be affected if they do not vote over an extended period of time. As long as your eligibility status does not change and you keep your name and address current with the Election Office, your registration remains active.
