A special household hazardous waste collection will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Allegany County Fairgrounds (11490 Moss Avenue, Cumberland).
All Allegany County residents may participate. Proof of residency is required, in the form of a valid driver's license, current utility bill, etc. Businesses and commercial entities cannot participate in this event.
*Paint, once dried, can be disposed in the landfill therefore WILL not be accepted at this event.
The 2015 Allegany County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day is made possible by The Allegany County Commissioners, Allegany County Solid Waste Management Board, City of Cumberland, City of Frostburg, Town of Lonaconing, Advanced Disposal, Waste Management and NEFCO.
The more you use safe alternatives, the less we spend on disposal of household hazardous waste (HHW). The more HHW you dispose of, the less we save during these tough budgetary times. Choosing safer alternatives is the difference between money saved and money spent.
