Yard Waste & Mulch Site: New Hours Start April 4




Allegany County Government operates a supervised yard waste and mulch site for Allegany County residents and businesses at 11700 PPG Road in the North Branch Industrial Park, off of MD Route 51 South. 

For the convenience of Allegany County residents, the Allegany County Yard Waste and Mulch Site will start the spring and summer hours of operation on April 4, 2018. The site will be open five days per week (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 10 AM – 6 PM).

There is free drop off of accepted items and mulch can be picked up free of charge.

Accepted Items: Grass, leaves, brush, tree and tree limbs four inches or less in diameter, Christmas trees, and other fresh holiday greenery free of artificial decorations of any type.

Items Not Accepted: Stumps, roots, trees and tree limbs more than four inches in diameter, rubble, demolition material, lumber, pallets, railroad ties, and all other items not listed above as accepted items. 

Allegany County Government appreciates the efforts of all recyclers and encourages everyone to reduce, reuse, recycle, and compost.
