Allegany County Government
WHEREAS, for over 50-years community health centers have provided access to high quality, affordable, and dependable health care in our nation’s medically underserved communities; and
WHEREAS, community health centers are an effective means to overcome barriers to healthcare - including geography, income, and insurance status - and
nationwide health centers serve one in every six residents of rural areas; and
WHEREAS, community health centers offer comprehensive primary and preventative health care to all individuals; and
WHEREAS, community health centers employ medical professionals who work in multi-disciplinary clinical teams designed to treat the whole patient; and
WHEREAS, Allegany County’s citizens are fortunate to have the Tri-State Community Health Center in Cumberland which operates the Primary Care Center on Kelly Road and the Women’s Health Center on Willowbrook Road.
NOW, THEREFORE, we, the Allegany County Commissioners, appreciate and thank everyone associated with these two exceptional health centers in our community and proclaim August 13 - 19, 2017 as
National Health Center Week
in Allegany County.
